A while back, one of our kids got a job putting stickers on cars...wraps I think the kids call it. One of the first things he did was to "peen" our window. Good kids. If yourn have never "peened" you, ask yourself, "what am I doin wrong?"
Here's the window:
Amanda put a wreath up...diff ones over the years. But that peen always stood tall.
This year was the time to finally do something about it.
I checked the existing opening for size and square, then cut a template to make sure.
I "quartered" the template and did some freeform design.
Once those were cut on some thick paper, it was time to break out the tools and start cutting.
It's always nice when the first piece cuts as intended.
Then you just have to do it again. And again. And again.
Pro tip: stack your parts and get them as "same-se" as possible.
Time for another color.
I like to stack up the parts so I can see my progress. This went faster than expected.
A quick sanity-check.
Time to tape all the pieces. I like to cut all my tapes and "batch" the process.
Assemble the piece and check all the gaps.
Framed up. Check it for size and square. Ready for Amanda's soldering.
I wish I had photos of the soldering and mounting. I took videos but the format my phone took didn't mesh with my Davinci Resolve system. Here's the finished window.
